Our Story
A Legacy of Care: 30 Years of Serving Hampton Roads Children
The James Barry-Robinson Institute (JBRI) has a long and proud history of serving children and families in the Hampton Roads region. For decades, JBRI has been committed to its mission of improving the lives of children. Since 1995, JBRI’s non-profit foster care program has been a beacon of hope for youth with behavioral and emotional challenges, providing positive, stable homes and comprehensive support. We have remained steadfast in our dedication to recruiting, training, and supporting exceptional foster parents who are the heart of our program. Our experience and deep roots in the community allow us to provide unparalleled support and resources to foster families and the children they care for.
